2022 Questionnaire
Please share briefly what inspired you to run for this office and why you feel you’re qualified for the position.
I was born and raised here in las vegas Nevada, over my 36 years I have seen a steady decline in our court systems, schooling systems and many other aspects of this beautiful state we call home, yet! a rise in homelessness and suicides. I have sat idly by and watched our home running into the ground long enough.
Though I have no prior political experience, I am an extremely driven and self motivated person. I am willing to stand up for what is right and fix the wrongs, not by talking about it like many before me, Actions speak louder than words! And I am ready, I am willing to learn the things I do not know, Ill never be too proud to admit when I know not of something as well as when I was wrong.
What policies would you propose for dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our state’s economy?
Open all the doors again! I am pro-choice. If people feel safest wearing a mask and getting the vaccine, they have that choice. just as well as the ones of us that CHOOSE not to. "The government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives. Protecting the people includes allowing us our constitutional rights. Open business back up fully! By doing so we will actually have the money to stimulate the economy and keep our mom and pop business running along with the casinos that have closed due to the pandemic, people will again have money to have a night out and keep the doors open to those places.
With rent prices having increased over the last year, what do you think should be done to make rent affordable for more Nevadans?
I feel we need a rent cap here. Through the pandemic 233 million dollars were doled out to nevada residence to cover housing costs. Its now coming down to greed in the Real estate/landlord. Business.
With Nevada’s growing population, what policies and mitigation measures would you propose to protect water?
Id like to start with personal experience, my home owners Association decided it best we go to rock landscape, I drive by four golf courses on a regular basis and see them watering continually throughout the day. Golf courses can install fake turf like so many of us Nevadans have here the last few years, there are plenty of water wasting businesses that are leading to our diminishing Hoover dam and lake mead that can be looked into.
Nevada has historically protected the right to abortion, including protecting the right in statute 30 years ago by a vote of the people. However, there remain barriers to access in the state. Do you support not only the right to abortion but policies that improve equitable access to abortion care?
The 14th amendment provides a woman's right to privacy. Our body our choice.
The state of Nevada is facing an unprecedented shortage of health care providers – a problem that impacts every area of medicine, including the provision of sexual and reproductive care. Do you support removing the physician-only requirement and allowing advanced practice clinicians (APCs) to provide this vital care to patients with training and certification?
I absolutely agree." Doctor in practice" no one medical condition is the same for every individual. If they do not get the chance to learn they wont scale up and we will have an even bigger shortage. I personally have been seen by only a NP many times with the doctor being so busy he could only come in to sign the prescriptions.
Comprehensive, age and developmentally appropriate, medically-accurate, inclusive sex education has been proven to improve students’ long-term health outcomes, yet it is not required that students be provided with this information in their sex-ed programs. Do you believe that public school sex-ed programs should be comprehensive, medically accurate, and inclusive?
I do agree. If the parents do not like their child learning medically accurate sex education then they do not have to sign the form and can have their child miss that class.
It is well documented that patients of color face greater obstacles to obtaining sexual and reproductive health care than non-Hispanic white Americans – a pattern that results in worse health outcomes overall for BIPOC patients. Do you not only acknowledge systemic racism’s role in public health disparities but will you pursue policies that seek to rectify the historical harm of systemic racism and advance equitable access to health care?
Absolutely!
Knowing that the death penalty is exorbitantly expensive, racially discriminatory, and does not promote true healing for victims family members, do you support its abolition and do you think ending the death penalty is a crucial part of criminal justice reform?
If its not broken, don't fix it. The death penalty has been around and dates back as far as B.C. harboring maleficent criminals in prison for 25 plus years feeding and housing them costs more im sure than the death they are served for committing heinous crimes. We could also take the "last meal" away. That could save money as well.
True Colors United, a national organization that implements innovative solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ young people continues to rate Nevada as critically low, for its State Index on Youth Homelessness (in collaboration with the National Homelessness Law Center) that ranks and scores laws and policies related to preventing and addressing youth homelessness in the United States. What is your office’s plan to help fund and provide oversight regulations to youth homelessness services now that there is an abundance of housing dollars to address affordable housing and other housing needs?
I plan to not talk about it and actually do something. We have enough people here in nevada looking to go back to work, and with the funding provided we can create housing centers with counselors the promote success to our future generations along with housing. Giving these broken down teens much needed love , support and a purpose. skills to obtain a career, giving them a reason, a reason to work on being strong, moving forward and becoming emotionally healthy again. These children are our future. Future doctors, nurses Etcetera. We can all play a bigger part and do better for our future generations.
What is your commitment to housing as a basic human right? Do you support the implementation of rent control policies as part of this commitment? Yes or no, and why?
I do support a form of rent control also known as a "rent cap" for all Nevadans. I trust we have enough land here and possibilities for jobs to give our ever growing population jobs to be able to contribute to paying for a roof over their head. however, I do no support "squatting".
What do you plan to do to protect and help workers in Nevada from continued significant job loss projected in the next 10 years due to automation?
as Governor I would have say so in companies starting up here along with the residents of nevada, Id say keep our mom and pop businesses running because that assures jobs for non automation. These companies have been going this long with men and women using their hands to get the work done, there is no way id let huge bot companies come in and take over our home and let our residents starve.
Would you support removing pepper spray from our schools given that CCSD has been unable to verify the ingredients used in the pepper spray currently being used on students in CCSD?
I have heard nothing about not knowing the ingredients in said pepper spray. Id prefer pepper spray to keep issues from steadily climbing over the alternative of Baton or a taser on a minor.
Following the distribution of COVID-19 test kits, what are the policies you will implement that will ensure the recovery of Nevada’s community and economy after the pandemic?
This seems to be a re-run question. Vaccines have been distributed, some wear masks still and im very sure our Nevadans and visitors to our home are taking better care to wash hands and stay in when sick. The number of cases and deaths is declining as the virus weakens. Again, Im pro-choice so companies also have a choice on testing employees so assure no one comes to work unknowingly sick. The company's should pay for said testing as well.
Filipinos and Filipino Americans make up just 4% of registered nurses in the U.S., but account for nearly a third of all COVID-related deaths among registered nurses. What is your plan to help support our burdened healthcare system and support healthcare workers?
We need to pull some of the weight off of our nursing staff. Allow medical assistants and volunteers to come in and take over phones. Trained staff that have the proper certification to provide care in the field they are schooling for to come in and talk a little bit of the load off the nursing staff. If a body is over worked it can play role in the body lowering the immune system.
