2022 Questionnaire
Please share briefly what inspired you to run for this office and why you feel you’re qualified for the position.
We desperately need health care and nobody in power will simply do their job, so I intend to make them. The people don’t have a voice anymore in congress so I want to be that voice. There are four major things that I want to get done. Health care, Universal basic income, smarter renewable energy, and water.
What policies would you propose for dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our state’s economy?
We need to completely rethink how we treat guns in America. What we need is an institution where you register your fire arms, are tested and given a license. All guns and their parts should be serialized and put into a manufactures database and when purchased it should be recorded into the data base with the purchaser having 30 days to register the parts or fire arm. If is not registered in the 30 days the parts or fire arm should be confiscated. We have a proven system that works with cars in the DMV, we could in theory copy that but for fire arms. We also need better education on guns an gun safety in America as well, education can go along way to solving this.
Nevada has historically protected the right to abortion, including protecting the right in statute 30 years ago by a vote of the people. However, there remain barriers to access in the state. Do you support not only the right to abortion but policies that improve equitable access to abortion care?
I believe that what we are doing now is the correct path. No more masks no more social distancing but to still be cautious. It is good to see that the virus has mutated so rapidly that it has almost burnt itself out. Stay the course, learn to live with Covid and treat it like we do the flu.
The state of Nevada is facing an unprecedented shortage of health care providers – a problem that impacts every area of medicine, including the provision of sexual and reproductive care. Do you support removing the physician-only requirement and allowing advanced practice clinicians (APCs) to provide this vital care to patients with training and certification?
Not being a Miner myself I wouldn’t really know where to begin, however the best people to ask would be the mining companies and miner’s themselves and that is exactly who I would talk to. Unlike most politicians if I don’t know the answer or have an idea on how to fix a problem, I will say so and I will find out who is best to help me find the answers. I’m not going to lie or say random talking point to dodge the question either.
Comprehensive, age and developmentally appropriate, medically-accurate, inclusive sex education has been proven to improve students’ long-term health outcomes, yet it is not required that students be provided with this information in their sex-ed programs. Do you believe that public school sex-ed programs should be comprehensive, medically accurate, and inclusive?
My stance on abortion is different from most. Data shows that when you take the ability to choose away from the mother or family they will then seek out the abortion outside of medical facilities usually resulting in more harm to the mother and possibly death. When it’s more readily available via licensed medical services then the chance of loosing the mother is greatly decreased. On the stance of wether someone should or not, should be up to the family and the mother, it should not be used as birth control and after a certain point it shouldn’t be allowed. But it shouldn’t be taken away as that only makes more problems.
It is well documented that patients of color face greater obstacles to obtaining sexual and reproductive health care than non-Hispanic white Americans – a pattern that results in worse health outcomes overall for BIPOC patients. Do you not only acknowledge systemic racism’s role in public health disparities but will you pursue policies that seek to rectify the historical harm of systemic racism and advance equitable access to health care?
I do believe that sex-Ed programs should be comprehensive and medically accurate. It should also be based on facts and facts alone. It should also be age appropriate. However it should be allowed to be opt out of, this topic is not like math and should be something that parents should have a say in on wether their child is ready for this topic. To make this mandatory would only alienate some members of our community’s.
Knowing that the death penalty is exorbitantly expensive, racially discriminatory, and does not promote true healing for victims family members, do you support its abolition and do you think ending the death penalty is a crucial part of criminal justice reform?
My number one priority is healthcare, we need a universal healthcare system in this country and once everyone has access to healthcare the systemic racism issues will go away with all the medical bankruptcies. Once everyone has access to healthcare then nobody will be denied for any reason whatsoever.
Anti-transgender bills are being introduced across the United States that attempt to trans prevent people from having access to health care, gender re-assignment surgery, and access to sports in schools. Do you support transgender equality and access to healthcare and an athletic school experience?
Their are pros and cons to the death penalty sadly. Their are some that can not be redeemed and are truly monsters that tax payers should not be paying to live comfortably. However their are many that do not deserve the death penalty, so before abolishing it we should first look at how to reform it and make it a last resort and only for those that truly deserve it.
Nevada has a significant undocumented population, how will you ensure your office is accessible to all Nevadans?
First we need to speak with the tribal leaders and ask for their opinions on the matters at hand. After that it is simply getting done what needs to be done.
How would you use your office to strengthen the rights of the undocumented population and their access to their legal protections, critical public services, and quality of life?
Yes I would, I also feel we need to reform our immigration policies so that we can make it more affordable and help those who need it most.
Describe your understanding of the Confidential Address Program. What would be your approach to inform community members of this program?
